Creating the San Bernardino National Forest 

San Bernardino County historian, author and educator Tom Atchley will present this talk, beginning with the first preservation efforts and concluding with the creation of the Forest Service as well as their ranger stations in the forest.  During the program, Tom will also discuss how numerous San Bernardino Valley individuals - along with the San Bernardino Chamber of Commerce, National Irrigation Congress, Abbot Kinney, John Muir, Theodore Lukens and local press editors - played improtant roles in its creation.
