Swing Auditorium

Steve Chapman will talk about the history of the Swing Auditorium.

During its 33 year reign, which abruptly ended in September of 1981, when a twin engine Cessna nose-dived into the building and exploded inside, the “Swing” hosted a wide assortment of shows, including circuses, symphony orchestras, religious rallies, rock and country western concerts, and roller derby games.
The biggest claim to fame, however, was in the 1960’s and 70’s, when the Swing Auditorium, was THE happening place in the Inland Empire as it played host to some of the biggest rock musicians in the world.
